The teacher-student ratio at ABC School is typically about 1 to 3. We believe in direct interaction with adults and close contact evidenced by a low teacher-student ratio.

If a class has between 4 and 6 students, ABC School will have one teacher and 1 teacher's aide in that class. In a maximum class size of 10 students, ABC School will have three fully-qualified teachers and no teacher's aides.

About Ages
The youngest student must be at least 3 years of age and toilet trained to enroll at ABC School.

About Programs

ABC Private School offers 2 programs.

Program #1: Young children aged 5 and below may attend school from 9:30 AM to 12 NOON Monday – Friday.

Program #2: Children aged 6 – 8 may attend school from 9:00 AM to 3 PM Monday – Friday.

Ms. Pamela Avery is a seasoned Montessori teacher, and holds a Bachelors and Masters degree in Early Childhood Education. She has 11 years experience teaching in a Montessori school before joining ABC Private School in 2007.  "It is exciting to grow and experience ABC Private School's vibrant learning environment," says Ms. Avery, "as it is one of the best I have seen!"  Pamela has a special knack for working with the youngest children at ABC Private School.  Parents report phenomenal change in their children's development after having spent a year with Ms. Pamela, as they affectionately call her.

Mr. Jose Rodriguez joined ABC Private School in 2007.  He was a family counselor for 30 years and upon retirement, studied the Montessori Method and became an advocate.  Mr. Rodriquez keeps ABC Private School abreast of the latest news and events in the Montessori community of teachers and attends several Montessori conferences annually.

Ms. Maria Zachary has taught the Montessori Method for 10 years.  She is pictured here with her daughter.  Ms. Zachary is a graduate of Easton University, with a degree in Psychology.  Ms. Zachary has worked with Ms. Smith at ABC Private School since its inception.

Ms. Zachary believes that the Montessori method of education serves the needs of children of all levels of mental and physical ability, and she enjoys encouraging children to live and learn in a natural, mixed-age group to mimic the way they will experience society as adults.

ABC School's Lead Teacher is Ms. Smith.

 
Ms. Candace Smith studied Sociology and Philosophy at Easton University.  She holds both a Bachelors and a Masters degree. Her thesis explored various ways to teach key values and decision-processes within the Montessori Method. Ms. Smith has a certification in Early Childhood Learning, as well.

Ms. Smith founded ABC Private School in 2005.  She is a popular keynote speaker at Montessori conferences and is a mentor to many new teachers.
